Concrete pressure inside ICF formworks

The pressure of concrete, cast into formworks made of any material, constitutes a considerable size, difficult to determine, since it depends on interacting variables, such as temperature, casting speed, specific weight of concrete, fluidity, height, etc.
Here it is proposed a brief in-depth report on this specific topic, with useful references to international standards that deal with the subject and to the ongoing scientific studies on the stabilizing effects generated by the containment action of ICF formworks, which are sized to coontrast the aforementioned pressure exerted by concrete .
It is also proposed a calculation sheet that allows to estimate the pressure of concrete cast within ICF formworks, determined according to the “Guidelines for the implementation of structural concrete” published in 2008 by the Higher Council of Public Works and the DIN 18218/2008 “Pressure of fresh concrete on vertical formwork”.
